Well its obvious which ingredient this "perfect little girl" comes from! Buttercup is, without a doubt, the toughest fighter! She is most def the strongest and has a strong thirst for fighting that the others don't have. (In other words, she would do well in the DragonBallZ
universe - all those tournaments). She believes brute strength and head on attacks are the way to get things done. In her eyes, making plans are a waste of time, you just have to be better to make it. Her personality reflects a straight forward attitude, someone who has a hard time showing how she feels and often bottles up her non-tough emotions inside of her.
She respects Blossom to a point, but she believes she would be a better leader, hence many of her arguments with herred-headed sister. She picks on Bubbles a lot, (Tsk, Tsk) but just like Blossom, she feels it her duty to look after and watch over the "baby" of the group.
*In the Powerpuff Girls Television Show, no last name is used for our heroines. But when a last name is needed, Utonium is used because Professor Utonium is their guardian.

As much as Buttercup wants to believe she can take on anything, she is still a little girl and still have the problems of one. Once Buttercup relied on a security blanket to give her the strength to fight, but soon found out that the only thing the blanket did was give her confidence, not any sort of power. All the power she needed she already had.
She often has power struggles with Blossom, and may pick on Bubbles, but she is also very protective of her sisters and won't let anything happen to them. She is always there for them, and comes through no matter what argument or disagreement may have taken place before.
